What is cosmetic tattooing?

Cosmetic tattooing - also known as micropigmentation - involves pigmentation of the skin to create a long-lasting colour change and thus achieve a desired aesthetic effect. Usually, a handheld device or a manual method is used to apply the pigment exactly where the colour change is desired.

In some situations, it is a valuable alternative or complement to standard treatments to improve appearance, or to correct an aesthetic problem. In particular, treatments aimed at recreating natural aesthetic aspects, such as eyebrow tattooing and eyeliner, require artistic talent and experience to achieve a successful result.

What is treated?

Areas treated are usually eyebrows, eyelids, lips and scars and marks from tattoo removal. The technique is also used to aesthetically recreate the wart in breast cancer reconstruction.

How long does the treatment last?

To achieve the desired results, treatment may need to be repeated several times. Once completed, it normally lasts a year or several years depending on the type of treatment and the individual circumstances. All of this is carefully considered when we discuss which treatment can give you the results you want.

  • What is cosmetic tattooing?

  • A cosmetic tattoo is a cosmetic procedure in which pigment is injected into the skin to emphasise features that you want to enhance or that have been lost over time. It is usually used to improve and enhance facial features such as eyebrows, eyelids, lips, wart marks and also to cover scars and replace lost hair growth. During a cosmetic tattoo, the pigment is applied using a fine needle attached to a tattoo machine or a small blade. The technique can vary depending on the desired result and the area to be treated.

  • How long do cosmetic tattoos last?

  • The durability of a cosmetic tattoo can vary due to several factors such as the type of pigment used, your skin type, exposure to sunlight and the skin's natural renewal process. The duration varies, ranging from 1 to 3 years, but even longer for some. It is important to protect the cosmetic tattoo from the sun and to follow the advice and recommendations of your practitioner for best results and durability.

  • How much does cosmetic tattooing cost?

  • A cosmetic tattoo costs from 4.200kr to 8.700kr depending on the area being treated.
