SofwaveDermapen
Dermapen is a type of microneedle treatment used to generally improve the appearance and texture of the skin and to treat wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, large pores, pigmentation changes, sun damage and uneven skin tone.
What is Dermapen?
There are different types of microneedle treatments. At The Faculty we use Dermapen, which is the leading technique in the world. Per Hedén is an international authority in this field and has developed new ways of using these techniques and trained practitioners on all continents.
Microneedling is used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin and to treat certain skin problems. The treatment is performed with a small, handheld device that contains a series of extremely thin needles. The needles vibrate and penetrate the skin, creating tiny microchannels that stimulate the skin's production of collagen and its natural healing process. To optimise results, specially developed hyaluronic acid is also introduced into the skin with the needle treatment. The patient's own stem cells and PRP can also be introduced into the skin during the needle treatment
Before and during the treatment, a serum is applied to the skin to reduce discomfort, improve penetration of the needles and to release various substances into the skin that will contribute to the desired effect. The choice of serum is individualised and is adapted to the patient's skin and to what is to be treated. Treatment time is normally between 30 and 60 minutes.
What is treated?
Dermapen is generally used to give the face, neck and décolletage a smoother, firmer and more radiant complexion. It is also used specifically to treat wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, large pores, pigmentation changes, sun damage and generally uneven skin tone.
How many treatments are needed?
Results can be seen after just one treatment, but usually several treatments are needed at intervals of about 4 to 6 weeks to achieve optimal results.
