Face lift and mid-face lift
A facelift is a plastic surgery procedure that primarily affects the stretching of the skin on the cheeks and neck, smoothing the skin and lifting/tightening the underlying tissue. A facelift is often combined with a fat graft if you have lost facial fat, which often happens with age. In some cases, fat tissue under the chin is also removed to reduce the vertical 'lines' that often appear over time.

Unlike laser and injection treatments, the deeper structures of the face are lifted and excess skin is removed. At The Faculty, our experienced surgeons use techniques such as deep plane and extended high smas. This creates an appearance with a smoother jawline, fewer and smaller wrinkles and better definition of the cheek. The procedure results in a more youthful appearance and smoother skin.
How the procedure works
A facelift is usually performed under general anaesthesia, which means you are asleep and pain-free throughout the procedure. Scar placement varies depending on the technique used, how much skin is removed, how the muscles are lifted and whether you are male or female. The scars are usually located on the scalp, just above the ear, and are very discreet and virtually impossible to see.
Mid-face lift
A mid-face lift is a plastic surgery procedure that raises and restores volume to the upper parts of the face, such as the cheeks and along the cheekbones. This gives a clear and at the same time fine rejuvenation of the face. The procedure can also be used to create a more balanced and harmonious facial contour.
The procedure is performed on both middle-aged and elderly patients and creates barely visible scars. Midface lifts can be performed as a stand-alone procedure, but also in conjunction with other facial surgeries.
Fine wrinkles around the mouth may require special procedures such as peeling or laser. This can be done in many different ways. You will discuss what is right for you with your plastic surgeon. We always aim for a natural look and tailor the technique to each patient's unique needs.
