The treatment
This microneedle treatment is used to improve the appearance and structure of the skin by treating wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, large pores, pigment changes, sun damage and uneven skin tone.
What is Miocroneedle?
There are different types of micronneedle treatments. At “The Faculty”, we use Dermapen, which is the leading technology in the world. Per Hedén is an international authority in this area and has developed new ways of using these techniques and trained therapists in all parts of the world.
Microneedle treatment is used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin, as well as to treat specific skin problems. The treatment is carried out with a small, handheld device containing a series of extremely thin needles. The needles vibrate and penetrate the skin, creating small microchannels that stimulate the skin’s production of collagen and its natural healing process. For best results specially developed hyaluronic acid is also introduced into the skin. It’s even possible to insert the patient’s own stem cells and PRP in this way.
Before and during the treatment, a serum is applied to the skin to reduce discomfort, improve penetration of the needles and to channel the treatment into the skin for the desired effect. The choice of serum is made individually and adapted to the patient’s own skin and treatment needs. The processing time is normally between 30 and 60 minutes.
What is treated?
Microneedle treatments are widely used to give the face, neck and chest more lustre with smoother and firmer skin. The method is also used specifically for the treatment of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, large pores, pigment changes, sun damage and generally uneven skin tone.
How many treatments are needed?
The result may be visible after just one treatment but usually several treatments are required, about 4 to 6 weeks apart to achieve the optimal effect.
