Breast surgery is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures and can be performed for both aesthetic and reconstructive reasons if you want to change the size and/or shape of the breasts. At The Faculty, we perform breast augmentations, breast reductions and breast lifts as well as asymmetric corrections and breast reconstructions (including breast reconstruction after cancer). All plastic surgeons have many years of experience, which means that tailor-made consultations and breast surgeries are always carried out with high precision and natural results based on the customer’s needs, conditions and wishes.

During the consultation, which you can easily book on our website, we make a 3D simulation to illustrate the desired results. With the help of 3D technology, we can see how different sizes and types of breast implants would look on you and you get an illustration of the desired result of your surgery in advance. Furthermore, we measure the dimensions of the breasts and chest in order to calculate where to place your implants for a natural result. Our plastic surgeons will discuss different options with you and guide you in your choices.

The faculty has extensive experience in natural looking breast augmentation

The Faculty’s team of experienced plastic surgeons applies a carefully validated, mathematically and anatomically tailored approach to breast augmentation. A method that Associate Professor Per Héden has developed based on 40 years of clinical experience and about which he has lectured around the world. The method optimises perfection in the planning, execution and follow-up of the insertion of the breast implants to create natural results that are individually adapted to the body with minimal scars.

Breast Reconstruction

The Faculty is the only private clinic in the Nordic region that performs breast reconstructions with so-called DIEP Flaps. The method involves taking skin and tissue from the side of the chest and moving it forward to fill in with tissue to the outer side of the breast if necessary. The method is often used for reconstructive purposes together with breast implants.

When Can You Exercise After Breast Augmentation?

After two weeks, you can start some activities again. It’s important to take it easy in the beginning. You can start with short walks or something not too strenuous.

How does a breast lift work?

Depending on how much lift is needed (depending on the size and shape of the breasts and the degree of sagging), different surgical techniques are used in a breast lift. Breast lifts can be combined with implants to achieve a larger breast volume and a firmer shape if desired. A combination of breast lift and breast augmentation can be done at the same time. In the case of limited sagging, a breast implant may be enough to achieve the lift needed.

What do breast implants contain?

Breast implants contain a safe and well-documented substance called Silicone. The Faculty only offers breast implants of the highest level of medical safety. The implants we use always have CE marking and/or FDA approval.

Teardrop or round implants?

Breast augmentation can be done with a large variety of teardrop-shaped or round implants, the choice is made in consultation with our experienced surgeons based on each individual’s needs, wishes and conditions. In this way, you can customize the result and create the desired breast shape and size.

How does a breast reduction surgery work?

Breast reduction, also known as reduction surgery, is a surgical procedure in which excess breast tissue and skin are removed. During this procedure, the size of the areola can also be adjusted to fit the new proportions of the breast. The procedure thus reduces the volume and weight of the breast, creating a smaller and more youthful breast shape.
