The Faculty was born of a vision by a group of experienced and well-qualified professionals to create a new business that takes aesthetic treatments to a new level.
The common goal is to use all the knowledge and experience that The Faculty possesses, to offer the best in terms of patient service, treatment methods and products. In addition, the business is a leader in applying the latest scientific and research advances.
The Faculty offers plastic surgery
To realise this goal, The Faculty will open a new plastic surgery clinic in the autumn of 2024. The clinic, which will initially have about 10 surgeons, is located on the waterfront in the new Stockholm Harbour Front being built next to Värtahamnen on northern Djurgården. The address is Hangövägen 20 with good public transport, parking and easy access by car via the Northern Link.
The clinic is one of Europe’s largest and most modern. On over 2000 square meters there are 6 operating theatres, 18 patient rooms, of which 10 are overnight rooms with private bathrooms and private terraces, 2 outpatient rooms for simple procedures and a bright open ward for consultations and follow-up visits.

The Faculty's founder Per Héden
The founder of The Faculty, Associate Professor Per Héden, is one of the world’s leading plastic surgeons, an internationally recognized Key Opinion Leader and lecturer in plastic surgery and aesthetic treatments. He has been active in Sweden and internationally for over 40 years.
Per Héden, together with his colleague Jan Jernbeck, founded Akademikliniken in the early 1990s, where he has also worked for many years. Over the past 30 years, he has trained a large number of doctors and nurses in both surgical and non-surgical techniques worldwide.
“During my more than 40 years of experience as a plastic surgeon in Sweden and internationally, I have had the privilege of seeing a fantastic development of new and better treatments. In the early 1990s, I was one of the first plastic surgeons in the world to use Botulinum toxin type-A and I was also involved in the introduction of hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Together, the new techniques have led to completely new treatment options with results that could not be imagined before.
The foundation of The Faculty is the collective experience and knowledge that we have in our team combined with the drive to improve – to take aesthetic treatments to a new level. Now, it feels incredibly stimulating to bring only the best of all this experience and open a brand new, state-of-the-art clinic more than 30 years after we established and built Akademikliniken.”
