Facial surgery

The appearance of the face changes over time. With age, the skin's elasticity decreases, facial muscles lose strength and facial fat deposits may decrease in volume. This can lead to the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, lines and bags. These changes are due to both genetic and other factors such as alcohol, smoking, diet, sun exposure, exercise, and weight changes.

Face lift and mid-face lift

A facelift is a plastic surgery procedure that primarily affects the stretching of the skin on the cheeks and neck, smoothing the skin and lifting/tightening the underlying tissue. A facelift is often combined with a fat graft if you have lost facial fat, which often happens with age. In some cases, fat tissue under the chin is also removed to reduce the vertical 'lines' that often appear over time.

Breast reduction

For many women, a large and heavy bust can cause more than just aesthetic concerns. It can affect both your physical comfort and quality of life.

Leg and thigh surgery

Weight changes, age and loss of skin elasticity are factors that can lead to excess skin on legs and thighs. The older we get, the looser the skin becomes. It is not always possible to train for tighter and more shapely legs based on desired results.

Breast augmentation

The appearance of the breasts changes throughout life and is influenced by factors such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight change and skin elasticity. Breast augmentation is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures among women. The desire for breast augmentation may arise due to lack or limited amount of breast tissue, decreased firmness, or the desire to recreate the shape and volume of the breast after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Breast surgery

Breast surgery is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures and can be performed for both aesthetic and reconstructive reasons to change the size and/or shape of the breasts. The Faculty has built a long-standing reputation in breast surgery thanks to proven methods, extensive experience and a carefully personalised approach.

Breast reconstruction

After breast cancer surgery, there may be a desire to recreate the natural shape and volume of the breast based on each patient's individual circumstances and wishes. Breast reconstruction can be performed after a mastectomy (removal of the entire breast) or for partial breast reconstruction. This can be performed using implants, autologous tissue or a combination of these two methods.

Breast lift

A breast lift is performed to restore and rejuvenate the shape of the breasts, and there are many reasons why some people want to lift their breasts. Hereditary factors can lead to a sagging bust already during breast development. Pregnancy and/or breastfeeding, or a major change in weight, can also affect the elasticity of the skin and cause the breasts to sag.

The Faculty's founder Per Héden

The founder of The Faculty, Dr Per Héden, is one of the world's leading plastic surgeons, an internationally recognised Key Opinion Leader and lecturer in plastic surgery and aesthetic treatments. He has been active in Sweden and internationally for over 40 years.

Together with his colleague Jan Jernbeck, Mr Héden founded Akademikliniken in the early 1990s, where he has also worked for many years. Over the past 30 years, he has trained a large number of doctors and nurses in both surgical and non-surgical techniques worldwide.

"During my more than 40 years of experience as a plastic surgeon in Sweden and internationally, I have had the privilege to see a fantastic development of new and better treatments. In the early 1990s, I was one of the first plastic surgeons in the world to use Botulinum toxin type-A and I was also involved in the introduction of hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Together, these new techniques have opened up a whole new range of treatment options with results that were previously undreamed of.

The foundation of The Faculty is the collective experience and knowledge that we have in our team combined with the drive to constantly improve - to take aesthetic treatments to a new level. Now, more than 30 years after we established and built Akademikliniken, to take only the best of all this experience and open a brand new, "state of the art" clinic, feels extremely stimulating.

Hope to see you soon at The Faculty!"
