Sunburn - a sun injury
When we are in the sun and exposed to UV radiation, the first effect is usually a burn - a tan. The sunburn is in fact a first-degree burn. Some skin types never really get a tan, but instead the effect is a burning, itchy and red skin. If you continue to sunbathe in this state, you risk a second or third degree burn.
Why do people get sun damage?
