Here you can read about us as
working at The Faculty
The team at The Faculty results from a recruitment process. The goal was to create a team with strong commitment, good teamwork, and a common goal.
Today, The Faculty consists of seven plastic surgeons, four injection nurses, two estheticians, a medical tattoo artist, and about 50 employees in surgery, care, outpatient clinic, administration, and reception. Together, we run our two clinics covering 2500 m2 with six operating rooms, 18 patient rooms, and 16 reception rooms.
What unites us is our high level of ambition, our great commitment, and the stimulating collaboration, both within the team and in dealing with our patients. Together, we have experience that includes over 40,000 injection treatments and 60,000 surgeries.
Per Hedén
After specialising in plastic surgery, Per Hedén spent some time in Australia, where he trained in microsurgery - a new technology that gradually revolutionised plastic surgery. Back in Sweden, he pioneered microsurgery in the early 1980s in Stockholm. The technology provided new opportunities to perform advanced reconstructive surgery - an area in which he is still very involved, particularly in the repair of facial paralysis.
Birgit Stark
Dr Birgit Stark was trained in Germany and became a specialist in surgery in 1987 and plastic surgery in 1989. She has lived in Sweden since 1992 and obtained her doctorate at Karolinska Institutet in 1999, and an associate professorship in plastic surgery in 2007.
Jonas Röjdmark
Jonas Röjdmark's interest in plastic surgery began more than 30 years ago when, as a young physician's assistant, he trained in the plastic surgery department of Rhode Island Hospital in the United States. The opportunity to help people through advanced surgery and the creative dimension of plastic surgery made him decide then and there that this would be his speciality.
Riikka Veltheim
Riikka has over 20 years of experience in aesthetic and reconstructive/reparative plastic surgery. She became a specialist in plastic surgery in 2005 and was then the youngest surgeon in Sweden ever to obtain her specialist degree.
Filip Farnebo
Filip Farnebo has worked in plastic surgery since 2003 and is responsible for reconstructions of patients with facial paralysis in public health care in Stockholm. He has a strong academic interest and became an adjunct professor of plastic surgery in 2011. In parallel with reconstructive plastic surgery, he has many years of experience in aesthetic surgery, first at Akademikliniken between 2010-2018 and then at Conturkliniken 2018-2023, mainly focusing on facial surgery and breast surgery.
Thore Hedestig
Thore Hedestig gained his experience during a 10-year period between 1991 and 2001 when he worked at the Anaesthesia Clinic at Karolinska Hospital with a special focus on traumatology and emergency care.
Paolo Montemurro
After graduating as a doctor and specialising in plastic surgery in Italy and working for several years, Paolo Montemurro chose to join us at The Faculty in Stockholm. He is a member of the Swedish Society for Plastic Surgery (SPKF), the Swedish Society for Aesthetic Surgery (SFEP), the Italian Medical Council (Ordine dei Medici) and the Associazione Italiana Chirurgia Estetica (AICPE).
Nahal Agheli
As a nurse anaesthetist, Nahal has worked at Karolinska Hospital, among other places. In 2014 she started with aesthetic injections and since 2016 she has been employed at Akademikliniken; among other things, responsible for training the clinic's injection nurses in Sweden. She has also been involved as a trainer for Galderma/Restylane and for IBSA/Profhilo.
Sofia Augustsson
Sofia has been a registered nurse since 2005 and has worked in emergency care and women's health care at Karolinska and Södersjukhuset. In 2006 she started working in plastic surgery and in 2007 Sofia trained in aesthetic injection techniques and medical skin care. Since then she has worked at the Surgery Centre, Stureplanskliniken and Akademikliniken in Stockholm.
Therese von Post
Therese has a long and solid experience in aesthetic skin care and injection treatments. She has a special interest in health issues and is a trained health and life coach. In 2016, Therese was recruited to Akademikliniken where she worked as an injection nurse until she joined The Faculty in 2023.
Ulrika Erhardt
Ulrika comes most recently from Akademikliniken, where she has been since 2014. After a period at the surgical clinic, she trained as an injection nurse under the supervision of Per Hedén. Professionalism, a strong commitment to patients and an aesthetic talent are prominent characteristics of Ulrika, which made her recruited to the clinic.
Anita Mackegård Sollevi
Immediately after completing her basic training, Anita was recruited to Akademikliniken by Per Hedén and Jan Jernbeck. The first thing she had to do was to travel to the USA for further training in New York, Los Angeles and Phoenix, among other places, to learn the latest in medical skin care. Once her training was complete, she started the Skin Care Unit at the University Hospital.
We are here for you
As we age, our skin becomes thinner, less radiant and supple, and appears flatter and more wrinkled. Wrinkles around the mouth and eyes are common signs of ageing, as are bags and dark circles under the eyes. Most signs of ageing on the face are due to the loss of hyaluronic acid (naturally present in the skin) as we get older.
