Breast augmentation with implants
This is the most established method for creating stable volume and shape. Depending on your anatomy, individual circumstances and your preferences, you and your plastic surgeon will choose the shape (round or anatomical), the profile, and whether the implant should be placed behind or in front of the pectoral muscle. We work exclusively with high-quality implants to ensure the highest possible safety and a balanced silhouette.
Breast augmentation using the patient’s own fat (fat transfer)
For those of you who are looking for a more subtle change, breast augmentation using fat may be the right option. Using a gentle technique, fat cells are removed from areas such as the stomach or thighs, purified and then strategically injected into the breasts. A natural breast augmentation using the body’s own tissue provides a very soft feel, provided you have sufficient fat deposits to begin with.
Hybrid breast augmentation
Here, we combine the precision of both techniques. A smaller implant provides the foundation for shape and projection, whilst the surgeon uses autologous fat transfer to cover the edges of the implant. The result is an exceptionally smooth transition to the chest and a natural feel, which is particularly effective for patients with thin subcutaneous tissue.
Breast augmentation and lifting
When the skin has lost much of its elasticity, simply increasing the volume is rarely enough to achieve a harmonious result. In such cases, a breast augmentation with a lift is performed to remove excess skin, reposition the nipple and, at the same time, add the fullness that is lacking.
Silicone breasts: Understanding the implants
Silicone breasts is the colloquial term for breast augmentation with silicone implants, and it is the method most of our patients choose. The implants come from Mentor, Motiva and Polytech, and are filled with a cohesive silicone gel. The gel holds together even in the unlikely event that the shell should rupture, ensuring the silicone cannot leak into the surrounding tissue.
You determine the size together with your surgeon. We base this on the width of your chest and the elasticity of your skin to determine which volume and profile can be safely accommodated. During the consultation, you will get to try different sizes in a bra to see what the result might look like. The surgeon will also explain whether the implant should be placed in front of or behind the chest muscle.
Immediately after surgery, the breasts will sit high and feel tense. Over the following months, the muscle relaxes and the skin adapts, allowing the implants to gradually settle into their final position. We will evaluate the final result together after approximately six months.
Modern silicone implants are durable, but they are not lifetime products. It is rarely the implant itself that needs to be replaced; more often, it is the body that changes over the years, for example, following a pregnancy or a change in weight. The risk specific to silicone implants is capsular contracture, which is when the scar tissue capsule that the body forms around the implant becomes hard and contracts. The surgeon will go over how common this is and how we work to prevent it. You can participate in mammogram screenings as usual; simply inform the radiology staff that you have implants so they can adjust the technique.

The first step is a consultation with a plastic surgery specialist. You choose whether you want to book an online appointment or meet us in person at the clinic. During the appointment, you will be given medical information about risks, current waiting times and which techniques are best for you.

The patient’s goal: A woman who, following two pregnancies, had lost tissue volume and wished to restore fullness with an implant of approximately 400cc. Taking the patient’s shoulder and chest width into careful consideration, an anatomically shaped implant was selected. The skin adapted well to the volume, creating a proportionate profile that harmonised with her physique. Breast augmentation using fat
The patient’s goal: A patient who wanted a very subtle augmentation of the upper breast pole, but wished to avoid foreign materials. Using a gentle technique, fat tissue was harvested from the outer thighs. After rigorous purification, the cells were injected with high precision into the breasts, resulting in a soft contour and a completely natural breast augmentation.

The patient’s goals: A patient who was troubled by significant skin laxity and low-set nipples, but who also wanted more volume. Implants alone would have resulted in an unbalanced shape. By performing a combined procedure involving skin tightening (lift) and implants, the position of the breast was stabilised, restoring both a firmer structure and a proportionate fullness.

Tailored breast augmentation
The patient’s goal: A woman with a congenital, significant difference in size between her left and right breasts who wished to achieve a more even and balanced anatomical proportion. To compensate for the natural difference in volume, high-quality implants in two different sizes and profiles were used. Through very precise measurement of the chest and the existing tissue, the surgeon was able to balance out the asymmetry. This created a harmonious overall appearance and a more even silhouette. Medical assessment and choice of method
You will meet with your specialist surgeon, who will measure the dimensions of your chest and assess the tissue. Together, you will discuss the procedure, for example whether implants or your own body fat are best suited to your anatomy.
Before your procedure
Preparing for a safe operation
Our coordinator will provide you with important information. Among other things, you will be required to abstain from smoking and alcohol for four weeks before and after your treatment, and to wash with chlorhexidine soap prior to your arrival.
The day of the operation
Safe care at the clinic
Once you arrive, you will meet your surgeon for a pre-operative consultation and to have photographs taken. The procedure is then carried out under general anaesthetic in a fully sterile environment and usually takes between one and two hours to complete.
After the operation
Awakening and initial rest
You will be closely monitored in the recovery ward. Your breasts will often feel tight, heavy and tender during the first 24 hours. We will ensure that your pain relief is working properly before you go home or stay overnight.
Recovery & healing
Self-care and convalescence guidelines
The initial healing phase requires rest. You will need to wear a supportive sports bra around the clock. Physical exertion and heavy lifting must be avoided for four to six weeks to allow the implants or fat to heal undisturbed.
Monitoring & results
Medical check-up and final assessment
One week after the operation, you will have a routine wound check-up with our nurse. After around six months, once the tissue has softened, you will be booked in for a final check-up with your surgeon.

What are the signs of infection following breast augmentation?
You should contact the clinic immediately if you experience a fever, increasing and severe redness over your breasts, a distinct throbbing pain, or if one breast suddenly becomes severely swollen.
How long do the breasts remain swollen afterwards?
The most severe swelling usually subsides within the first four weeks. However, it can take up to six months for the tissue to soften completely, for the implants to settle into place, and for the final result to be assessed.
Can I breastfeed after having a breast operation?
In the vast majority of cases, breastfeeding works well, but all breast surgery carries a small risk of affecting the nerves and milk ducts. The surgical technique and the location of the incision used play a crucial role, which we will discuss during the consultation.
How long do breast implants last?
High-quality modern implants are very durable and rarely need to be replaced as a matter of routine. However, they are not designed to last a lifetime; some people have them replaced after 10–15 years due to natural changes in the body’s own tissue.
When can I start exercising after a breast augmentation?
After the procedure, your tissue needs rest to heal safely. Gentle walks are encouraged right from the start to keep your blood circulation going and reduce the risk of blood clots. However, you must completely avoid exercise that raises your heart rate, heavy lifting and specific strain on the chest or arm muscles for at least four to six weeks. Your surgeon will give you clear, individual guidelines on when and how you can resume your physical activity.
Will the surgery affect sensation in the nipples?
It is very common to experience a temporary change in sensation in the nipples and the surrounding skin in the initial period following breast augmentation. Some people experience increased sensitivity, whilst others feel a slight numbness in the tissue. For the vast majority of patients, sensation gradually returns to normal over the following six months. In rare cases, however, some loss of sensation may become permanent, which is one of the medical risks we always discuss during the consultation.
How to choose the size of silicone breasts?

Can I have a mammogram if I have silicone breasts?
Yes, you can participate in the general breast screening as usual. Let the radiography staff know that you have implants before the examination. They will then use a special technique that provides clear images of the breast tissue without putting unnecessary pressure on the implants.
What happens if a silicone implant were to rupture?
Today's implants contain form-stable silicone gel. If the shell were to tear, for example due to a severe impact, the gel stays within the capsule that the body has formed around the implant instead of spreading into the tissue. If we suspect a rupture, an ultrasound examination is performed, and the implant is then replaced.
