Bunny lines are the diagonal and horizontal wrinkles that appear high up on the bridge of the nose, next to the inner corner of the eye, when you laugh, squint or wrinkle your nose.
Why is it called a rabbit's nose?
The term originates from English, where the muscle movement is likened to the way a rabbit twitches its nose (bunny lines on the nose). ‘Kaninnäsa’ is the direct Swedish translation of this clinically accepted term.
Are wrinkles around the nose best treated with muscle-relaxing injections or fillers?
Muscle-relaxing injections are the primary medical treatment, as they stop the movement that causes the creases in the first place. However, if you have very deep furrows, a complementary volume treatment using hyaluronic acid (bunny lines filler) may be considered to provide the skin with additional support.
Does it hurt to treat the area above the nose?
No, the area above the bridge of the nose is relatively insensitive compared with other parts of the face. Furthermore, as we use microscopically thin needles, the injection is usually felt as a very slight, quick and fleeting prick.
Will the treatment affect my smile or my breathing?
When the treatment is carried out by qualified specialists with the necessary anatomical knowledge, neither your breathing nor your smile will be affected. The medication is injected superficially into the nasal muscle, at a safe distance from the muscles that control the upper lip and the airways of the nostrils.
