Hi, just had a face, neck and nose surgery by Jonas R. Too early to say anything about the end result yet but he is magical in his practice so it can only be the best. I have never been treated so well and taken care of, all the way from the first consultation, surgery planning, reception, the surgery team, the two-night stay. First class VIP feeling right through including the environment which is also TopNotch, private room with TV "sea view" and large veranda/balcony. They have their own chef who prepares wonderful food based on wishes and possible allergens. Room service 24/7 Super professionals the whole team I must say. I will definitely come back here again. Kind regards, AnnaPosted on Google![]()

So professional, nice treatment from start to finish. Dr. Heden inspires great confidence and I received great information after the operation about how it went. The anesthesia and surgical staff were fantastic, I felt so calm and felt safe in their hands. The care in the nursing ward after the operation was top notch, nice, safe and good breakfast🌸+0Posted on Google![]()

World class on-site surgery. A professional clinic with Sweden's most skilled and experienced doctors. I have had surgery at other clinics but have not experienced skill and service at this level. Big thanks to Per Hedén and the rest of the staff.Posted on Google![]()

Modern business where everything is new and except for the staff, they are old in the paperclip, incredibly experienced and in sync from the reception, nurses, nurses, anesthesia staff and surgeons. No questions are stupid, and they have a rock-solid understanding of pain relief. When the breakfast tray arrives after waking up, you become a little religious with happiness.Posted on Google![]()

Nice staff throughout the clinic and good aftercare, responds quickly to emails. Lovely Riikka operated on me after the effects of childbirth I had a few years earlier. It was nice to be operated on in an environment that is not depressing and with staff/surgeons who are committed.
What is microneedling (Sofwave)?
The scientific process behind skin rejuvenation involves reversing or slowing down the cellular ageing process. By exposing the skin to a controlled form of stimulation, whether through heat (ultrasound/laser), mechanical action (such as microneedling with Dermapen) or biochemical substances (hyaluronic acid), the body’s own defence system is activated. During treatment with Dermapen, an automated system of sterile microneedles is used to create precise microchannels in the skin’s outer layer, allowing us to calibrate the stimulation according to your tissue’s unique needs. The fibroblasts are then stimulated to form new, healthy collagen and elastin fibres. This gradually builds up a firmer extracellular matrix, resulting in a plumper, stronger and more hydrated skin structure.
Our methods for facial skin rejuvenation
At The Faculty, we offer a carefully selected spectrum of medical methods. By understanding your skin's unique anatomy, we can tailor a skin rejuvenation plan that works in exactly the right tissue layers.
Sofwave (Ultrasound)
For those seeking a genuine facelift without surgery, Sofwave is a leading technology. By emitting synchronous ultrasound waves, cylindrical heat zones are created exactly 1.5 millimetres into the dermis. This precise thermal stimulation causes collagen fibres to immediately contract, while triggering massive new production of collagen and elastin. The result is a noticeable tightening of the face, jawline and neck.
Skin rejuvenation with IPL and Laser
Light-based treatments (laser skin rejuvenation and IPL) mainly target the surface layers of the skin and the upper layers of the dermis. By converting light energy into heat, unwanted pigment and superficial blood vessels are broken down. At the same time, the heat provides a gentle stimulation of the fibroblasts, resulting in a clearer and more even skin tone.
Profhilo
If the skin is primarily suffering from moisture loss and thinness, an injection treatment is often best. Methods such as Profhilo or Skinboosters place highly concentrated hyaluronic acid directly into the tissue. This acts as a bio-stimulator, restoring moisture balance and providing an immediate skin improvement at the cellular level.
Gentle approach
A common denominator of all our advanced technologies is respect for the anatomy of the skin. Machine-based treatments such as Sofwave and IPL are equipped with integrated cooling mechanisms that protect the epidermis while delivering energy deep down. This methodical and controlled approach is crucial. It minimises thermal damage to the surface, reduces recovery time and ensures that the stimulation is delivered deep into the tissue where it has real, lasting benefit.
A clinic full of expertise
Treating the skin with intense heat, light or texturising injections requires an in-depth medical understanding of physiology and anatomy. At The Faculty, you will only meet registered nurses, doctors and specialised skin therapists. We work strictly on the basis of scientific evidence. Our role is to provide you with an objective and honest assessment of what is anatomically possible, so that you feel fully informed and confident in your treatment choice.
Price for skin rejuvenation and skin improvement
Your exact cost will be determined during the consultation. The price depends on the technique required to achieve your anatomical goals, as well as the extent of the treatment.

Consultation before injection treatment
Your treatment journey always starts with an in-depth consultation with one of our specialists. We will carry out a clinical analysis of your skin quality, measure the thickness of the tissue and discuss your medical history. We explain exactly how the different technologies (ultrasound, laser or injections) interact with your cells. You will receive detailed information on aftercare and realistic expectations.
You will receive a specific treatment proposal based on your body. After the consultation, you have a statutory reflection period of at least 48 hours to decide in peace and quiet whether you want to give your consent.
Skin rejuvenation
Step by step
To make sure you know exactly what to expect, we have a very clear process from the first meeting to the final check.
01. Consultation
Medical assessment and choice of method
We evaluate your skin barrier and ensure there are no contraindications (such as sunburn before a laser treatment, or active infections). We set up a customised protocol based on your anatomical starting point.
02. Before your procedure
Preparing for a safe operation
The skin is double-cleaned and thoroughly disinfected. Before heat-based treatments such as Sofwave, we apply a powerful medical anaesthetic cream that is left on for around 30-45 minutes. This ensures that the intense heat deep in the skin is well tolerated.
03. The day of treatment
Safe care at the clinic
An ultrasound or optical gel is applied evenly over the treatment area. This gel is necessary for the energy (sound waves or light) to travel without resistance from the skin surface down to the exact target depth in the dermis.
04. After treatment
Awakening and initial rest
The specialist moves the handpiece systematically over the skin. At Sofwave, we stop to deliver pulses of ultrasound energy. You will feel a distinct heat build-up deep in the skin for a couple of seconds, immediately followed by the machine's soothing contact cooling that protects the surface.
05. Recovery & healing
Self-care and convalescence guidelines
The gel is wiped away. It is completely expected and biologically correct for the skin to be erythematous (heavily red) and feel warm afterwards, as we have deliberately created a controlled thermal stimulation. We apply restorative serum and a high medical sunscreen.
06. Monitoring & results
Medical check-up and final assessment
Your skin cells are now working intensively. If you have undergone laser/IPL treatment, you should strictly avoid direct sunlight. In the case of ultrasound (Sofwave), the skin surface remains intact, which means zero convalescence, but you are still advised to avoid pulse-raising exercise for the first 24 hours and always use SPF 50.
Results of the treatment
When you can expect to see the final outcome depends entirely on the biological process we have activated in your tissue. If we work with moisturising bio-stimulators via injections, you can often see a noticeable difference in the skin's radiance and elasticity within one to two weeks, as the hyaluronic acid integrates deeply. If we instead choose light-based methods such as IPL and laser to even out pigments and superficial vessels, once the skin has rejected the treated cells, a clear change becomes apparent. This usually occurs after two to three weeks, and to achieve optimal and lasting results, a course of three to five treatments is often recommended. If we are working with the Sofwave ultrasound technique, it is important to know that it takes time for the body to build new, strong type I collagen. While you may experience some immediate tightening right afterwards, the full and structural facial lift appears progressively over three to six months after your treatment.
Our specialists
At The Faculty, all advanced treatments are performed by experts with a deep understanding of physiology. Delivering energy or injections to the face requires exceptional anatomical precision. The expertise of our registered nurses and dermatologists is the foundation for your treatment to be carried out in a safe, precise and medically sound manner.
Who can undergo the treatment?
To undergo a medical skin treatment, you must be over 18 years old and in good general health. The method is suitable for patients experiencing structural age changes. During the consultation, an objective assessment of your skin condition is made. We do not perform treatments on patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or who have active autoimmune skin diseases of the face.
Risks and complications
All methods that stimulate the skin have some impact on the tissue. The common and expected side effects of heat or light-based treatments include temporary redness, slight swelling (oedema) and transient tenderness of the facial muscles. The risk of burns is extremely rare when the technology is handled by medically trained staff, and our machine cooling efficiency ensures that the epidermis is always protected.
Other treatments
If the excess skin is very extensive and the lost elasticity can no longer be addressed with devices or injections, our plastic surgery specialists can guide you. In these more pronounced cases, a traditional surgical facelift may be the most appropriate option to anatomically recreate the contours of the face.

Why do a microneedling treatment?
Investing in your skin health is a personal choice. Microneedling is a versatile method that can be calibrated to address several different conditions. Often used for acne scars to break down tight scar tissue, or as microneedling for wrinkles to increase skin density. It also tightens tissue in microneedling for large pores, and can help slowly rebuild skin in stretch marks on the body.
Frequently asked questions about skin rejuvenation
Frequently asked questions about microneedling and Dermapen
What is the difference between Sofwave and HIFU?
Both use ultrasound, but the technique differs significantly. HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) creates small focal points deep into the tissue, which can be painful and in rare cases risks damaging underlying fatty tissue. Sofwave uses SUPERB technology that spreads the energy in parallel exactly 1.5 mm down into the dermis, where collagen is at its richest. This makes Sofwave extremely safe, effective for firming and gentle on nerves and fat layers.
How does laser and IPL skin rejuvenation work?
Light and laser therapy works on the principle of selective photothermolysis. The light energy seeks out specific colouring agents in the skin (such as red blood in vessels or brown melanin in sunspots). When the light hits the target, it is converted into heat that breaks down the structure, allowing the body to transport the residue away for a smoother skin surface.
What exactly is a facelift without surgery?
It is an umbrella term for advanced, non-invasive treatments (usually ultrasound such as Sofwave or radiofrequency) that greatly tighten the skin and lift the tissue through deep collagen stimulation, without the need for a scalpel or incisions.
What skin rejuvenation by injection is recommended?
To deeply moisturise and stimulate cells, Profhilo and various Skinboosters are the most well-documented options. They contain the body's own hyaluronic acid, which spreads evenly throughout the tissue and acts as an internal moisturiser.
Can you rejuvenate your skin effectively at home?
Using advanced skincare products such as retinol is important to maintain the skin, but creams can never penetrate deeply enough to create a structural, noticeable tightening. For an actual physiological change in the dermis, professional clinical equipment is required.
Does the treatment hurt?
The sensation is completely individual and depends on the method chosen. Heat-based ultrasound treatments can feel intense for a few seconds per pulse, which is why we always offer strong anaesthetic cream beforehand to make your experience as manageable and gentle as possible.
Do you offer skin rejuvenation in Gothenburg and Malmö?
We perform our advanced treatments exclusively at our clinics in Stockholm, but due to our unique machinery we receive patients travelling to us from Gothenburg, Malmö and other parts of the country on a daily basis.
