Ultrasound-based skin tightening in Stockholm
Are you considering a treatment to lift and tighten your skin without any surgical incisions? At The Faculty, you’ll meet qualified specialists who will guide you with a scientific approach, reassurance and complete transparency, based on your personal choice.
What is energy-based skin tightening?
Ultrasound-based skin tightening (such as Sofwave and LaseMD) is an advanced, non-surgical method designed to lift the tissue. By delivering high-frequency, focused energy deep into the middle layers of the skin, precise and controlled heating is generated.
This process triggers the body’s natural healing process and stimulates the fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. The skin is gradually strengthened and tightened from the inside out, in line with your own biological makeup.

Why choose an energy-based skin tightening treatment?
The reasons for undergoing ultrasound treatment are personal and relate to a desire to maintain the skin’s elasticity. Many patients choose to undergo a course of treatment for their own well-being, for example when they wish to restore the contour around the jawline or reduce the volume of a double chin without surgery or recovery time. The aim is to support the skin’s structure and achieve a natural lift.

Risks with energy-based ultrasound skin tightening
Although the method is non-invasive, there are medical factors to consider. Common reactions include temporary redness, swelling, and tenderness to the touch. Less common side effects include the appearance of small bruises or temporary nerve sensitivity near the surface of the skin. Your practitioner will carefully go over how we work preventatively to minimize these risks.
Our modern clinics
The Faculty operates from two locations in Stockholm. Our clinic at Hangövägen 20 is specially designed for plastic surgery procedures, providing the ideal conditions for ensuring patient safety.
For injection treatments and medical skincare, you are warmly welcome to visit our clinic at Humlegårdsgatan 14. Whichever of our clinics you visit, you will meet plastic surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and nursing assistants who will provide you with transparent information and base their recommendations entirely on your anatomical conditions and your personal preferences.
Consultation on energy-based skin tightening
The first step is a personal consultation with one of our specialists at our clinic in Stockholm or via a video call. We will carry out a clinical assessment of your skin’s current elasticity, analyse the thickness of the tissue and review your health declaration.
You will be provided with factual and objective information on how the treatment affects your cells, the expected timeframe before results become visible, and any potential side effects. Following the consultation, a statutory cooling-off period of at least 48 hours applies to aesthetic injections or peels carried out in combination.
What does energy-based ultrasound skin tightening cost?
The price for ultrasound treatment is based on which area is treated, which technology is used, and the scope of the procedure. After your clinical skin assessment, you will always receive a clear, written price quote.

Frequently Asked Questions about energy-based ultrasound skin tightening
Here we have gathered frequently asked questions and answers regarding energy-based ultrasound skin tightening
What does energy-based ultrasound skin tightening cost?
The cost depends on which area is treated (e.g., under the eyes, the jawline, or the whole face) as well as which technology is used. An exact price quote is provided during your consultation.
Does the treatment hurt?
When the ultrasound pulses are delivered, a brief warm or tingling sensation may be felt deep within the skin. The intensity is adjusted to your comfort level, and a numbing cream can be used if needed.
What are the risks of focused ultrasound?
The method has few side effects, but temporary redness, mild swelling, and local tenderness may occur for a few days. Your practitioner will inform you thoroughly about all aspects.
How does Sofwave differ from traditional HIFU or Ultherapy?
Sofwave uses a parallel ultrasound technology that focuses energy delivery right into the mid-dermis (1.5 mm depth) with integrated epidermal cooling, whereas traditional HIFU and Ultherapy reach deeper down into the tissue layers and the SMAS layer.
How long does the recovery take?
No recovery time: you can return to your usual activities immediately after treatment.
How long do the results of the treatment last?
The collagen-stimulating effect develops over three to six months, and the results often last for 12 to 18 months, depending on your skin's natural aging process and lifestyle.
