Patient information & safety - Important to know before your procedure
At The Faculty, we value transparency and peace of mind. Choosing aesthetic or reconstructive surgery is a big and personal decision, and for us it is crucial that you feel well informed and safe throughout the process. We believe in an open dialogue about both possibilities and limitations. Below is important information about what you can expect from the outcome, what the general risks are, and how we work with you to achieve the best possible outcome.
Expected outcome
Aesthetic and reconstructive surgery can in many cases help improve appearance or function, or help restore the body's shape after injury, disease or congenital conditions.
Everyone is different, and therefore the outcome is also individual. The outcome is influenced by the body's own conditions, healing, the extent of the procedure and how the aftercare advice is followed.
It is important to have realistic expectations. We cannot guarantee a particular outcome, and any images or examples on the website should be seen as illustrations - not as promises of the same outcome.
Risks and safety
All surgical procedures carry some risks. Plastic surgery involves careful medical judgement and safety measures to reduce these risks, but complications can still occur. These can include infection, haemorrhage, scarring, swelling, changes in sensation or failure to achieve the expected result.
In some cases, additional treatment or corrective surgery may be needed. The risks involved depend on the procedure planned and your individual circumstances.
Individual consultation - a joint decision
Before any procedure, you will meet a specialised and registered doctor/nurse for a personal consultation. Together, you will discuss your wishes, medical conditions, possible treatment options, risks and limitations.
Our aim is to guide you through clear and transparent information, so that you feel confident and well informed about your decision.
Your choice. Your security. Together with us.
