What does the new law on injectable treatments mean?
On 1 July 2021, a new law on aesthetic injection treatments entered into force. The new law means, among other things, that only authorised doctors, nurses and dentists can perform injections with fillers and muscle relaxant injection treatments. Before each treatment, you as a customer must also undergo a consultation and a period of reflection, which you can read more about below. The law is there to protect you as a customer.
We at The Faculty welcome the new law - our policy has always been to work in a patient-safe manner and our staff have the training for injection treatments that the law requires.
The law applies to aesthetic injection treatments with:
- muscle relaxant injection treatment
- hyaluronic acid fillers such as Teosyal, Profhilo and Restylane.
Consultation and reflection period
The new law on fillers and muscle relaxant injection treatment means that as a new customer, you must first have a consultation. You then have at least 48 hours to consider before the injection treatment can be carried out. This also applies to existing customers who have not had the treatment in question before, or if it has been more than 6 months since the last treatment.
Are you interested in doing a consultation with us? You are welcome to book an appointment!
What training is needed to perform aesthetic injection treatments?
Only trained doctors, dentists and nurses can perform injection treatments. This means that the people performing the treatments need to have one of these healthcare qualifications.
Those of us who work here have the right training, extensive experience and highly specialised skills. If you want to know more and see who we are working at The Faculty, you can click here.
Why does the new law exist?
The new law exists to protect people's lives and health. Aesthetic procedures and treatments have become very popular and therefore regulation of the industry is needed. We at The Faculty welcome the new law - our policy has always been to work on patient safety.
What does the law mean for me as a customer of The Faculty?
We have always worked with trained staff and patient safety. This means that you as a customer can feel extra safe with us! In practical terms, the new law means that you need:
