When can I sunbathe after fillers?
At The Faculty, we advise against sunbathing for up to a week after a filler treatment. You should also not sauna or perform any other form of steam treatment on your face for the next few days after the injection treatment.
Both UV light and heat can cause more swelling and inflammation if the skin is exposed to them, and should therefore be avoided for 24 hours after treatment. This applies to both the sun and tanning beds. It is a good idea to pay particular attention to your SPF after fillers or when you have had a muscle relaxant injection treatment.
Other things to consider and avoid after treatment
There are other things to keep in mind and avoid after having fillers to maximise your results. In addition to avoiding sunbathing, sauna and other steam treatments for the first week after treatment, you should avoid:
- Do not touch or poke the treated area
- Using make-up on the day of the injection treatment
- Do high-intensity training in the next few days
- Drinking alcohol in the next 24 hours
