You will be given strict instructions to follow. Do not touch the eye area and do not wear any make-up for the first 12 hours to prevent bacteria from entering the injection sites. You must also keep your head upright and avoid lying completely flat for the first 4 hours, to prevent the medication from migrating to unwanted muscles. You should also avoid exercise that raises your heart rate and saunas for 48 hours.

A voluntary follow-up appointment is always offered after 14 days. This is done to ensure that the muscle has responded symmetrically to the treatment and to administer a small adjustment dose if this is deemed medically necessary.

Is it possible to get rid of wrinkles around the eyes completely?
The aim of the treatment is to significantly soften and smooth out the lines, not to freeze the face. It is entirely possible to get rid of crow’s feet and dynamic wrinkles that appear when the face moves. However, if the lines are very deep static wrinkles (which have been there for a long time), the treatment may need to be supplemented with skin-sculpting treatments or fillers to completely smooth the skin.
Does it hurt to treat a sprained ankle?
The area around the eyes is sensitive, but as we use the very thinnest and shortest microneedles available on the market, most people experience only a minimal, fleeting prick. The treatment for both eyes is over in just a couple of minutes and generally requires no anaesthetic at all.
When should I start treating wrinkles around my eyes?
There is no specific age limit for when you should start; it depends entirely on your individual anatomy and muscle strength. Many people choose to start with small, preventative doses as early as their twenties or thirties to stop the skin from constantly creasing, thereby preventing permanent wrinkles from forming in the dermis in the first place.
Will the treatment affect my eyesight or my eyes?
No. The medicine is injected very superficially into the outer facial muscle (orbicularis oculi), which lies beneath the skin, well away from the eyeball itself. The medicine affects only this specific muscle and has absolutely no effect on the eye’s internal muscles, the optic nerve or your vision.
What happens if I stop the treatment?
If you decide to stop the injections, the muscle will gradually regain its full range of movement as the medicine breaks down. Your crow’s feet and laugh lines will then slowly return to the condition they were in before you started treatment. In other words, they will not get worse if you stop; rather, the ageing process will resume at its normal pace.
How long do the results last?
The clinical effect of a muscle-relaxing treatment around the eyes usually lasts for 3 to 4 months before the nerve signals are re-established. If you repeat the treatment regularly over a longer period, the muscle may sometimes weaken slightly, which in some cases can extend the time between your visits.
