Hi, just had a face, neck and nose surgery by Jonas R. Too early to say anything about the end result yet but he is magical in his practice so it can only be the best. I have never been treated so well and taken care of, all the way from the first consultation, surgery planning, reception, the surgery team, the two-night stay. First class VIP feeling right through including the environment which is also TopNotch, private room with TV "sea view" and large veranda/balcony. They have their own chef who prepares wonderful food based on wishes and possible allergens. Room service 24/7 Super professionals the whole team I must say. I will definitely come back here again. Kind regards, AnnaPosted on Google![]()

So professional, nice treatment from start to finish. Dr. Heden inspires great confidence and I received great information after the operation about how it went. The anesthesia and surgical staff were fantastic, I felt so calm and felt safe in their hands. The care in the nursing ward after the operation was top notch, nice, safe and good breakfast🌸+0Posted on Google![]()

Modern business where everything is new and except for the staff, they are old in the paperclip, incredibly experienced and in sync from the reception, nurses, nurses, anesthesia staff and surgeons. No questions are stupid, and they have a rock-solid understanding of pain relief. When the breakfast tray arrives after waking up, you become a little religious with happiness.Posted on Google![]()

Nice staff throughout the clinic and good aftercare, responds quickly to emails. Lovely Riikka operated on me after the effects of childbirth I had a few years earlier. It was nice to be operated on in an environment that is not depressing and with staff/surgeons who are committed.
What does an ear lobe treatment involve?
Earlobes change naturally with age, but can also be significantly affected by genetics or external mechanical stress, such as wearing heavy jewellery for many years. Medical treatment for an earlobe can involve either restoring volume using injections or surgical correction. For patients who have lost volume and whose earrings no longer sit neatly, synthetic hyaluronic acid is used to provide the tissue with internal stability. For patients who wish to reduce the size, or repair skin that has stretched and cracked, a minor surgical procedure (ear lobe plastic surgery) is performed under local anaesthetic.
Our techniques for ear lobe fillers
To achieve a genuine, sustainable and medically safe result in this sensitive area, the demands placed on materials and technology are extremely high.
Volume with fillers (Ear lobe filler)
For patients with thin or wrinkled earlobes, a specific type of hyaluronic acid is injected deep into the tissue. Treatment with ear lobe fillers builds up the skin from within, which smooths out wrinkles and provides the stability needed for heavy earrings to sit straight again and not tilt forwards.
Gentle technology and medical precision
Whether we are working with ear lobe fillers (using fine cannulas or needles) or performing an earlobe operation, a thorough understanding of the ear’s blood supply and three-dimensional anatomy is absolutely crucial to ensuring a safe and symmetrical result with minimal scarring.
A clinic full of expertise
Correcting and reconstructing earlobes requires both a keen aesthetic sense and in-depth surgical and anatomical knowledge. At The Faculty, your medical safety is always our top priority. Our practice is characterised by clinical expertise, fully equipped sterile operating theatres and an open, honest dialogue about what the various procedures can and cannot achieve from an anatomical perspective. You can feel completely confident that you will be treated to the highest medical standards with us.
Price for fillers in the earlobes
The price depends entirely on whether your anatomy requires injection treatment or surgery, as well as the extent of the procedure. Many patients ask us about the cost of ear lobe surgery, and this is determined precisely during your personal consultation.

Pre-treatment consultation
The first step is a consultation with one of our injection specialists. You can choose whether to book a virtual appointment or meet us in person at the clinic. During the appointment, you will receive medical information about risks, current waiting times, and which techniques and volumes are best suited to you. You will receive a specific treatment proposal based on your facial anatomy.
After the consultation, you have a statutory cooling-off period of at least 48 hours (which applies to aesthetic injection treatments) to allow you to decide in your own time whether you wish to give your consent.
Fillers in the earlobe
Step by step
To ensure you feel completely at ease and know exactly what to expect, we have a strict and safe procedure in place for our injection treatments
01. Consultation
Medical assessment and choice of method
We carry out a thorough clinical assessment of your skin quality, the structure of the cartilage, the size of any existing piercings, and the shape of your ear in relation to your facial proportions. We will also review your health declaration.
02. Preparations
Preparing for a safe operation
Whether you are having injections or undergoing surgery, the procedure begins with the ear and the surrounding area being cleaned and disinfected very thoroughly with chlorhexidine to ensure absolute sterility.
03. The treatment
Safe care at the clinic
For injections: An extremely fine needle or blunt cannula is used to gently inject the hyaluronic acid into the earlobe. For surgery: A local anaesthetic is administered to the earlobe (making the procedure painless). The surgeon then carefully removes excess tissue or the stretched, scarred skin canal. The incision is then closed using very fine, microsurgical sutures.
04. After treatment
Awakening and initial rest
If you are having an injection, you can go home straight away after a short observation period. If you are having surgery, the area will be covered with surgical tape to protect the incision, relieve tension in the skin and promote optimal scar healing.
05. Recovery & healing
Self-care and convalescence guidelines
It is essential that you do not touch the area with unwashed hands. After surgery, you must keep the incision dry in accordance with your surgeon’s specific instructions, and you must not wear earrings in the area whilst it is healing.
06. Monitoring & results
Medical check-up and final assessment
Following surgery, a follow-up appointment is scheduled approximately 7–10 days later to remove any non-absorbable stitches. A final follow-up appointment takes place once the area has fully healed to ensure that the tissue has integrated properly.
Results following treatment
When a hyaluronic acid filler is injected, the increase in volume, the smoothing of wrinkles and the results are visible immediately. It is normal for the area to feel slightly tender and for minor bruising to occur during the first 24 hours, but this subsides quickly. With surgery, the new, smaller shape is visible immediately after the procedure, but the tissue is initially swollen and bandaged. The stitches are normally removed after about a week. The final, assessable anatomical result for both methods is achieved once the skin has healed completely and all internal swelling has subsided, which usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. For surgery, the scars then continue to fade and mature over several months, up to a year.
Our specialists in injections
At The Faculty, we prioritise medical expertise. All injection treatments are carried out exclusively by qualified doctors and qualified injection nurses. All surgical procedures are performed exclusively by experienced specialists in plastic surgery. This strict division ensures that surgical incisions are made in a way that follows the skin’s natural tension lines to minimise scarring, and that exactly the right type and volume of filler is applied during injection treatments.
Who can undergo the treatment?
To undergo surgery or injection treatments with us, you must be at least 18 years old, be in good general health and (in the case of injections) not be pregnant or breastfeeding. To minimise the risk of infection and ensure complication-free healing, we do not perform any procedures on tissue showing signs of ongoing inflammation, infection or disease. If, for example, you are experiencing symptoms such as swollen earlobes, abnormally warm earlobes, itchy earlobes or extremely dry earlobes (often caused by contact dermatitis from nickel or other skin conditions), this must first be investigated and treated dermatologically before any aesthetic or reconstructive procedure can be considered.
Complications and risks
As with all medical and surgical procedures, there are risks involved, which we will discuss with you in detail. With surgery, the risks include post-operative infection, bleeding, minor asymmetries and visible scarring, although our plastic surgeons make every effort to place the incisions as discreetly as possible. With filler injections, there is a risk of unevenness, temporary bruising and, in very rare cases, vascular occlusion (where the filler affects the blood supply in a vessel). Our high level of clinical expertise, in-depth anatomical knowledge and sterile hospital environments strictly minimise these risks.
Other treatments for profile balancing
Patients who wish to have their earlobes reduced surgically often consider this in conjunction with other rejuvenating procedures for the lower face. It is very common for ear lobe surgery to be combined with a surgical facelift or neck lift, as the shape and position of the ear lobes are often affected when the skin in the mid-face and along the jawline is tightened. When using injection treatments alone, volume is often added to the earlobes using fillers along the jawline to create a uniform balance of the profile.

Why consider treatment for ear lobes?
As we age, the body’s natural production of collagen, elastin and subcutaneous fat decreases. This often leads to the earlobes becoming thin, wrinkled and saggy. By injecting a volume-restoring ear lobe filler, we restore firm, supple earlobes, giving the ear a more youthful and smooth appearance. Other patients have, from birth and due to genetics, very large earlobes or visibly asymmetrical earlobes that they wish to correct to achieve better proportions in relation to the face. It is also a very common medical need to seek help for stretched earlobes (so-called ‘gauges’ or stretched piercing holes) that can no longer close up on their own. The motivation for seeking treatment is highly individual, and we create a treatment plan that is entirely tailored to your specific anatomy and circumstances.
Frequently asked questions about ear lobe fillers
Here we have compiled some frequently asked questions about the treatment of ear lobes
What causes asymmetry (different-sized earlobes)?
It is very common for ears to be different shapes, and this is usually down purely to your genetics. The two halves of the face are rarely completely identical. However, existing asymmetry can sometimes be exacerbated by lifestyle habits, such as consistently sleeping on the same side every night or wearing heavier earrings in just one ear over a long period of time.
How does hyaluronic acid work in an earbud?
A firm hyaluronic acid filler is injected deep into the earlobe to replace the lost fat tissue and collagen that have diminished with age. This restores fullness, smooths out wrinkled skin and gives the earlobe the physical stability and substance required for earrings to sit firmly and not tilt forwards.
Can stretched earlobes caused by 'gauges' be surgically repaired?
Yes. If you have extremely stretched openings (‘stretches’) that have lost their elasticity and can no longer close up on their own, plastic surgery is required. The surgeon carefully cuts away the scarred skin inside the stretched canal and then sutures the tissue together in several layers to restore a natural shape with as discreet a scar as possible.
What determines your price for performing an ear lobe piercing?
The price is primarily based on the medical complexity of the procedure. The cost varies depending on whether it involves stitching up a small, torn piercing hole on one side, or whether extensive, bilateral reconstruction and surgical reduction of both earlobes is required. This is always assessed and priced precisely during your consultation.
Does surgery leave a scar on the earlobe?
Any surgery that involves making incisions in the skin leaves permanent scars. However, our plastic surgeons use microsurgical techniques and extremely fine sutures. Furthermore, the incisions are usually made in the ear’s natural folds or vertically straight across the lobe, which means that the scars fade, mature and become very discreet over time.
Does it hurt to have your earlobes pierced?
During surgical procedures, an effective local anaesthetic is always administered to the area, making the operation itself completely pain-free. For injection treatments, hyaluronic acid is used which already contains a local anaesthetic (lidocaine) from the manufacturer, which numbs the tissue from within during the course of the treatment and results in minimal discomfort.
When can I get new piercings after plastic surgery?
To ensure that the tissue becomes strong enough and the internal scar is allowed to heal properly, our surgeons strongly recommend that you wait at least 3 to 6 months before getting new piercings. The new piercings should not be placed directly through the scar itself, as scar tissue is tighter and weaker than intact skin, which increases the risk of the piercing stretching out again.
