Pre-operative consultation
Your journey always begins with a structured consultation with one of our plastic surgery specialists. We carry out a detailed assessment of your anatomy and discuss openly the surgical options available to you.
Following this, a cooling-off period of at least seven days applies by law. This break ensures that you have plenty of time to assess the risks and your expectations before giving your consent to schedule the operation.
Step by step
To ensure you know exactly what to expect, we have a very clear process in place, from the first appointment right through to the final check-up once your treatment plan is complete.
Clinical examination
The purpose of your consultation with your specialist surgeon is to assess your physical condition, answer your medical questions and draw up a treatment plan based on scientific evidence.
Preparations
Before the operation, you will receive clear instructions from your coordinator. These include requirements regarding stopping smoking and how to wash with antibacterial soap to ensure a sterile environment.
On the day of the operation
When you arrive at the clinic, you will get changed and meet the surgeon and the anaesthetist. We will carry out a final check and take photographs of the area before the operation begins.
After waking up
Once the procedure is complete, you will be monitored in our recovery room. Depending on the extent of the operation, you will rest with us for a few hours or stay overnight.
Healing at home
You’ll need peace and quiet during the first few weeks. Bruising and stiffness are natural reactions. You must avoid any exercise that raises your heart rate, in accordance with the restrictions you’ve been given to take home with you.
Medical follow-up
We schedule follow-up appointments during which nurses will check how the wound is healing. After about six months, you will see the surgeon again for a final check-up and to have the wound photographed.

What is gynaecology?
Gyno, or gynaecomastia, is an abnormal growth of glandular tissue in the breasts of men. It can be caused by hormonal imbalances, certain medications or genetic factors. Treatment for gynaecomastia is always assessed following a clinical examination by a plastic surgeon.
Is it possible to have gynaecomastia surgery free of charge through the county council?
If you have significant physical and medical symptoms, you may be able to seek treatment through the public healthcare system (for example, by contacting Gynaecomastia 1177). The criteria are often strict. With us, you can receive private treatment without having to wait.
Is it possible to get rid of man boobs through exercise?
If the volume over the chest consists exclusively of fat cells (pseudogynecomastia), physical exercise may lead to some reduction. If, however, the tissue is firm glandular tissue, it is not possible to reduce the volume through exercise; in such cases, surgery is the only proven method for permanently removing the gynaecomastia that men seek treatment for.
Which areas are commonly treated with liposuction for men?
Men most commonly request a reduction in fat deposits over the abdomen, around the waist (flanks) and under the chin. As fat distribution in men often differs from that in women, we adapt our technique accordingly to achieve a proportionate result.
