Thigh lift (inner thigh lift)
This method focuses on removing loose skin from the thighs. Once the tissue has lost its elasticity, the skin is tightened by the surgeon removing the excess skin. The incisions are made in the groin crease and, if there is a significant amount of excess skin, may continue vertically down the inner side of the leg, resulting in firmer skin on the thighs. Thigh liposuction (circumferential)
If the skin has good elasticity but has localised fat deposits all around the leg, circumferential liposuction is the most suitable method. The fat cells are permanently removed through millimetre-sized incisions. The price for circumferential liposuction of the thighs starts from 60,500 SEK.
Liposuction of the inner thighs
This technique specifically targets fat on the inner thighs to reduce their circumference and minimise the friction that can occur when walking. The method creates a more streamlined contour on the inner thighs. The price for liposuction of the inner thighs starts at 34,500 SEK.
Liposuction of the outer thighs (riding breeches area)
This body contouring procedure focuses on the localised fat deposits that accumulate on the outer thighs and hips, which are often genetically determined, such as ‘saddle bags’. The aim is to smooth out the outer contour of the leg. The price for liposuction of the outer thighs (saddle bags) starts from 34,500 SEK.
Liposuction of the knee
Fat deposits on the inside of the knee joint can be treated as a separate area to create a smooth transition and harmony along the entire contour of the leg. The price for liposuction of the knees starts at 25,000 SEK.

Consultation prior to leg and thigh plastic surgery
The first step is a consultation with a specialist in plastic surgery. You can choose whether to book an online appointment or meet us in person at the clinic. During the consultation, you will be given medical information about risks, techniques and current waiting times.
You will receive a specific treatment proposal based on your body. After the appointment, you will have a statutory reflection period of at least 7 days to decide in peace and quiet whether you want to give your consent.

You will meet a plastic surgery specialist who will assess your anatomical characteristics. Together, you will discuss the choice of procedure – for example, whether thigh lift surgery or liposuction of the legs is the right course of action for you.
Before your procedure
Preparing for a safe operation
Once your reflection period is over, our coordinator will contact you. You will be given clear instructions, which include, amongst other things, avoiding smoking and alcohol for four weeks beforehand. On the evening before and on the morning of the operation, you should shower using antibacterial soap.
The day of the operation
Safe care at the clinic
At the clinic, you will change into a patient gown and meet your surgeon and anaesthetist. We will take photographs of the surgical site and go through the procedure again. The operation itself is carried out under general anaesthetic and usually takes one to three hours.
After the operation
Awakening and initial rest
You will wake up in our recovery ward. It is normal to experience swelling, tightness, a burning sensation and tenderness in the tissue during the first 24 hours. You will be prescribed painkillers to manage these symptoms.
Recovery & healing
Self-care and convalescence guidelines
At home, you should rest for the first few weeks. You should avoid strenuous physical activity. Initially, you should wear a custom-fitted compression garment round the clock and tape the scars carefully. Most people can return to non-physical work after two to three weeks.
Monitoring & results
Medical check-up and final assessment
Around seven days after the operation, you will see a nurse for a check-up to monitor the healing process. After around six to nine months, we will book a follow-up appointment with your surgeon for a final check-up and to take photographs.

Who is eligible for calf and thigh contouring surgery?

How long do you need to wear compression garments after the operation?
Following both thigh liposuction and thigh lift surgery, a custom-fitted compression garment (girdle) must be worn around the clock for the first 3 weeks. After that, the garment should be worn during the day for a further 3 weeks, or for as long as localised swelling persists.
What are the signs of infection following a procedure on the thighs?
You should be alert to symptoms such as fever, increasing or severe redness around the surgical site, abnormal swelling, throbbing or significantly increased pain, and a general feeling of being unwell. Contact The Faculty immediately if you experience any of these symptoms during your recovery.
Can you get rid of ‘riding breeches thighs’ through specific leg exercises?
Many people are looking for ways to exercise away ‘riding breeches thighs’ or fat on the inner thighs (exercising away inner thigh fat). However, localised fat deposits in these areas are generally strongly genetically determined (cause of inner thigh fat / ‘riding breeches thighs’). It is not possible to target fat loss through localised exercise or ‘saddlebag’ exercises, which means that liposuction is the clinical option that can effectively reduce the volume.
What do the scars look like after thigh lift surgery?
The surgeon positions the incisions so that they are as concealed as possible in the groin crease. In cases of more extensive excess skin (for example, following significant weight loss), a vertical incision on the inner thigh is often also required. The scars are covered with Micropore tape for up to 6 months to ensure optimal healing and are strictly protected from sunlight.
How long will the sick leave and recovery period last?
Following isolated liposuction, you can often return to non-physical work after a few days to a week. In the case of thigh lift surgery involving the removal of skin, the operation is more extensive, and sick leave and recovery at home usually last between two and three weeks.
